It’s Ok If Intimacy Feels Challenging

Struggles with physical closeness or emotional connection can impact your confidence, your relationships, and how you feel about yourself. You may feel distant from a partner, unsure of your desires, or anxious around intimacy. These experiences are more common than you might think—and you're not alone.

At Women’s Health Physiotherapy Centre, we provide therapy and support for individuals and couples navigating sex and intimacy concerns, emotional disconnect, communication difficulties, and changes in desire. Our team includes a therapist with advanced training in sex therapy, offering a safe, respectful, and supportive space to explore sensitive concerns.

What You Might Be Experiencing

We work with clients who are navigating:

  • Mismatched desire or changes in sexual connection

  • Anxiety, shame, fear or past trauma affecting intimacy

  • Pain with sex

  • Difficulties with body image

  • Emotional distance or feeling like “just roommates”

  • Avoidance or disconnection around sex for any reason

  • Communication challenges in relationships

  • Shifts in intimacy over time or after life transitions

  • Rebuilding connection after betrayal or rupture

Whether your concern is physical, emotional, relational—or a combination—therapy can help you gain clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of connection.

Working Together Toward Connection

A person's hand over another person's belly, the person who is being held has their hand over the other person's an across their belly.

Therapy offers a space to gently explore what may be getting in the way of closeness, trust, and pleasure. We move at your pace, honoring your unique values, culture, lived experiences, and relationship dynamics.

In our work together, we can:

  • Enhance emotional and physical communication

  • Process past experiences or beliefs impacting intimacy and sexuality

  • Rebuild trust—within yourself or in your relationship

  • Explore your desires, identity, and unmet needs

  • Navigate the natural shifts in intimacy over time

  • Define what meaningful connection looks like for you

Whether you’re coming on your own or with a partner, our approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in curiosity—not judgment.

It’s okay, not to be okay.

You Deserve To Feel Connected

Sexuality and intimacy are deeply personal—and often layered. Whether you're seeking sex therapy, addressing intimacy challenges, or hoping to strengthen your relationship, compassionate support is available. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
